School Days - Part 1
Greenfield Elementary School - 3rd Grade

According to Barbara, these photos are of Mr. Zeff, who was the French teacher who we watched on TV. One of the teachers, Mrs. Thurston, invited him to come out to our school. I don’t remember Mr. Zeff visiting the school; however, I do remember watching a man on TV trying to teach us French, but I thought it was in first grade. Maybe we watched the show in several grades. I also remember that not everyone was in these sessions; it was just a group of kids selected from the three classes that comprised the 3rd grade. Mrs. Thurston was not my teacher, so maybe these photos are only of the kids who participated in the class. Below are some of the kids we recognize. The coach who is with the girl diving is Groves teach Mr. Nutter..Girl with bathing cap who is kneeling just behind diver's hands is Nancy Corgiat, two down from Nancy is the assistance coach (I think it's Groves history teacher Bud Guilmet), girl behind Nancy's left shoulder with headband is Kathy Detweiller, girl in front row to right of the assistance coach is Debbie Hole, boy stanidn behind Debbie is Rick Hatch ('67), second girl to right of Debbie is Jackie Anderson (bathing cap on edge of pool), second girl from right of Jackie is Joan Mattice (hands over mouth giggling). In second row from left, the second and third girls standing are sisters Carolyn ('68) and Laurel ('66) Beauvais.
